Reprint of Du Quoin Evening Call centennial edition available

Du Quoin Historic Preservation Commission member Judy Smid advises that reprints of the 1953 Du Quoin Evening Call Centennial edition are now available at Favorite Things by Judy & Co. on East Main Street in downtown Du Quoin.

She has received approximately half of the order the commission placed with Thomas Printing in Carbondale and 20 of the reprints are already spoken for.

The edition is printed approximately the same size of the original edition on heavy laminated paper stock. All of the stories are easily read as are the cutlines to dozens of great photographs of the town's beginning and great history.

The books are selling for $30 each with all of the money going to the historic preservation commission for its Du Quoin history awareness programs. The books will make a great Christmas present.
