What's new at Memorial Hospital? CEO reports to Chester Chamber of Commerce

The Chester Chamber of Commerce welcomed Memorial Hospital CEO Brett Bollmann to its quarterly luncheon meeting Tuesday, May 10, at the Chester Eagles.

Bollmann highlighted the many renovations and enhancements at the hospital during the past seven years, with a projected goal of completion in 2024.

"Our goals have been to provide better patient-centered health care, improved work space and safety for all, and to update utilities at the nearly 60-year-old facility."

Areas that have been improved, enhanced or relocated include:

The hospital's chemotherapy/infusion departments and waiting areas

The same-day surgery and sleep study departments

A new training room for employees

New restrooms in the hospital's lower level

A new, enlarged and enhanced front entrance to the hospital

New registration area

New administrative offices and board room

New ER registration area with improved safety and confidentiality

New elevator system

New and relocated medical surgical unit for the 25 bed Critical Access hospital, all with private restrooms and couches in each room.

New and relocated ICU department

A new in-house pharmacy, featuring a Community Pharmacy, now open to the public.

In the next phase of the building program, Memorial Hospital will begin construction on a new medical arts building at the rear of the hospital to house Chester Clinic physician offices and Convenient Care.

Bollmann also reminded Chamber members of the many community programs Memorial Hospital currently sponsors, including a prenatal program, Medical Explorers, a weight loss program, CAB youth babysitting clinics, "Full of Life" courses and student sports physicals.
