Looking to find Fourth of July activities? You'll have to travel a little farther this year

<b>Randolph County</b>

Celebrate our Freedoms and Veterans: July 1-6 exhibit encircling the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution monument in the Plaza of Flags at the Randolph County Courthouse in Chester. Each member of the NSDAR traces her ancestry to a Patriot who aided the effort of liberty. Patsie Hopkins, a member of the Liberty Bell of the West Chapter, has set up this exhibit honoring all the Patriots recognized by the 54 members of the Liberty Bell of the West Chapter. Visitors are asked to wear masks and socially distance themselves.

Cape Girardeau's Great American Fourth of July: July 4 at Arena Park in Cape Girardeau. Grounds open at 7 p.m.; entertainment at 8 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m. Parking available throughout the park. Tune to 960-KZIM and 1400-KSIM to listen to patriotic music, the Southeast Missourian Spirit of America program and updates about the fireworks show. Free. Eldorado: July 4 fireworks show, on the grounds of Compressed Energy Systems, on the southwest side of Eldorado off U.S. 45. The business has a large parking lot. In addition, Dover Management Group, located nearby at the old Roundy's location, has given permission for viewers to park there. Free.

Harrisburg: July 4 fireworks, at the Saline County Fairgrounds. Ample parking is available, and attendees can watch from the safety of their vehicles. Free.

Herrin: Fourth of July celebration at Herrin Park, 1010 N. 5th St., with Cat Daddy-o on stage from 6-9 p.m. and fireworks immediately after. Free.

Johnston City: On July 24, a fireworks spectacular, 5-10 p.m. at Arrowhead Lake Amphitheater. Entertainment from The Deplorables and Greg Clutts Music, food and entertainment. Free admission.

Lake of Egypt: July 3 fireworks show, at dusk at Pyramid Acres Marina, 12057 Marina Road, Marion. Concessions by Easy Street, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. (618) 694-2084. Rain date, July 5. Marion: Two-day festival, July 3-4 at the Marion Knights of Columbus, 1601 W. White St., Marion.
