Chamber to hold reception July 28 at the Landmark

After being forced to cancel its June 17 annual dinner, the Chester Chamber of Commerce has come up with an alternate way to celebrate its members this year.

The new event has been scheduled for Thursday, July 28, in the upstairs Captain's Table room at the St. Nicholas Landmark in Chester.

"The Landmark has graciously offered to host an hors d'oeuvres reception at 4:30 p.m. on that day," said Chamber President Bob Welker. "There will be a cash bar and attendees may purchase their meal, if they wish."

Beginning at 5 p.m. there will be an official 'passing of the gavel' with Bruce Luthy Jr. taking the presidency for the coming two years.

The identities of the Chester Business Person of the Year and the Citizen of the Year will be announced. Local businesses that have been named Businesses of the Month since the Chamber initiated the program also will be recognized.

"We have, through the years, had great attendance at our annual Chamber dinners," Welker said. "We're hoping the public will make plans to attend this alternate event this year. Please make plans to come out to the Landmark on July 28 to congratulate our 2022 award winners and to enjoy an evening out," Welker said.
