It's Okay to Believe Again! Santa Serving up Best Christmas Ever from 14 Digital Studios in Du Quoin
"Santa is still worth believing in," says Steve Carroll, co-founder of yoursantastory.com, "We're just giving families the Santa they've always believed in."
Carroll and co-founder Doug Johnson, with the help of Jim Espy at the Trogolo Company in Du Quoin, are sending the best Christmas message ever to kids all over the world in the form of personalized DVDs.
The three men with the help of project manager Dave Bell have built 14 fully equipped digital studios at what most still know as the Turco building in Du Quoin.
"There is only ONE Santa," says Carroll, but there have been more than a dozen Santas-in-training in Du Quoin since the project began November 1. They have become part of the community--reading at the library, taking Jaycees toys to families and going to the nursing home.
The Trogolo Company is the world's premier distributor of large, commercial Christmas decorations for malls, cities, community centers and the nation's celebrations. So what better place to do this?
For Santa, it has become his southern North Pole and the founders envision video-taping and sending their Christmas message to tens of thousands of families around the world each year.
"Moms have tons of "have to do's," says Carroll."We want this to be a 'want-to-do', he says.
The DVDs that are produced in Du Quoin aren't cookie-cut. Every message is one-of-a-kind and will stay among your most treasured keepsakes for years. Records are being kept on each DVD so that yoursantastory.com messages to your children will stay fresh and fluid as new messages are created. The DVDs, which cost $29.95 each, are so personal they talk to your children. Santa knows their names, He knows what they want for Christmas. He knows that they made the honor roll or the basketball team. And, at the end of the DVD they can even tell your children where that last special Christmas gift can be found.
A sample DVD on the web site shows happy, screaming kids racing out of the living room to go find that last present. One video they made tells the children they're headed for Disney World. Another tells a family member he's heading for the airport in two hours to go on a long-awaited trip.
Carroll says, "This is for after all the presents are bought." This is a message from the real Santa and he's in your living room."
It's heart warming and will send chills up your back, get the tissues ready kind of product! It's a beautiful idea with a great deal of time and thinking behind it. All first class. It doesn't get any better than that folks!
"This would not have been possible a year ago," says Carroll. Only the internet and their state of the art studios could get this done.
Time is running out. The DVDs are being made and shipped daily. Carroll said by the end of the week the last of them will be streamed to families over the internet.
