Fall Festival Saturday: Bands, 30 vendors on the grounds
Du Quoin chamber and tourism member Dane Mason will hit a home run in putting together Saturday's 1st annual fall festival in Keyes City Park Saturday. He spoke to the chamber Wednesday as all hope the forecast of rain holds off.
Vendors who will be set up in the park include Shelley File with Scentsy, Karen Wilson with primitive fall crafts, Mason's own CreativeScapes, Kim Buser with Premier Design Jewelry, Elizabeth Benson with Gold Canyon Candles, Nubability Athletics, Jamie Jones Cambron with Thirty-One, Hannah Smith airbrush tattoo, Vickie Voyles McDaniel with Avon, Jordan Melton with So Sassy Hair Bows, Candace Peters with Styles of Candyland, Paparazzi Jewelry, Deborah Golden with American Girl Doll Clothes, Cathy Cole with Pampered Chef, Christine Paul with Hoarder Sports, Moore than Memories, Briana Jokisch with Bbowtique, Laura Wallace with Tupperware, Kendra Humphreys with grammy garden, Chris Father with pillows and blankets, Baked by Gene, Samantha Higgerson Meadows with Origami Owl, Melissa Lilley with Mary Kay, Bearden Farm with goat's milk soap, Kathy Geurosloh with crafts and jewelry for $5 or less and homemade candies by Billy Maxton.
All Farmer's Market participants have been invited to stay all day if they want to.
The Kids Activity Corner will include a bounce house, face painting, sack races, pumpkin toss, pumpkin painting and more.
The band Fertile Soil will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chris Slone will perform from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The group 4-Play will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
There will be a chili cook-off at 5 p.m. with six or seven chili makers already registered.

The day will be in loving memory of Vanessa Fleming, who helped make the summer concert series a success.
