Du Quoin Chamber launches 'Merry Money'

The Du Quoin Chamber of Commerce Wednesday night unveiled a holiday Shop Du Quoin contest called "Merry Money."

Fashioned after the Du Quoin Dollars program from years ago, the idea is simple: When you stop in at participating Du Quoin stores during the holidays you can enter to win "Merry Money" during a weekly drawing. Any individual who fills out a ticket with name, address and phone number will be eligible to be selected as customer of the week.

The total chamber cash commitment is $250 with a $25 winner in Week 1, $50 winner in Week 2, $75 winner in Week 3 and $100 in Week 4.

The winner will receive a voucher for the winning amount that can be used at participating stores. Drawing dates are Nov. 29, Dec. 5, Dec. 12 and Dec. 19. The weekly drawing will be held at the chamber office.

When the winner redeems the voucher, the store then goes back to the chamber to be reimbursed.
