Concealed carry for business meeting moved to Thursday night because of weather forecast

Perry County assistant state's attorney David Searby has changed the date of the first meeting with local businesses pertaining to concealed carry in businesses because of the expected winter weather coming in today.

The first meeting was scheduled for this evening at 6:30 p.m., but has been postponed two days to Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Du Quoin City Hall.

The second meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the lower courtroom of the Perry County Courthouse.

To help businesses understand the new Illinois law allowing fully trained and permitted gun owners to carry concealed weapons, Perry County State's Attorney David Searby will hold two informational meetings in February.

Discussions will focus on what the law says, how businesses can allow or ban weapons from their property and posting the correct signage. Reservations are not required.
