Du Quoin fair seeks exhibitors for 2014 Illinois Food Show
Interested in exhibiting at the Du Quoin State Fair Food & Wine Show--Labor Day weekend, August 30 & August 31, 2014?
Here are the details:
The promotion will take place only the last Saturday and Sunday of the Fair (not the entire 10 days of the fair), August 30 & August 31 (Labor Day Weekend), in the air conditioned Expo Hall at the following times:
Saturday, August 30 12:00 Noon - 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 31 12:00 Noon - 5:00 p.m.
Please note the sponsors, Illinois Dept of Ag, The Du Quoin State Fair Expo Hall, and Southern Illinois University Small Business Development Center, are paying the cost of the show through sponsorships, so that clients can exhibit free. If your company is ​interested in participating please complete an application available from the fair or Robin Laur Russell at the SIU Business Development Center and return it to her as soon as possible to hold your spot.
Due to no shows last year, sponsors have instituted a last minute cancellation fee of $50. This fee will be billed to you if you register to be a vendor and do not show up to vend without contacting Robyn at least 72 hours before the show. This new policy will allow sponsors to fill your spot with an alternate vendor to ensure our show is full. Please be sure to note if you need electricity at your booth so we can place you appropriately.
The promotional area "Marketplace" will be set up at the north end of the building in trade show fashion. There will be numerous other exhibitors and activities in that building also.
Each company will be given a 10 ft. x 10 ft. area. You will also have 2 - 6 ft. tables, 2 chairs, electricity at no cost (if you need it). You need to bring signage, menus, product lists, promotional materials, etc., that represent your company to place in your display area.
Each company will need to bring an ample amount of samples to give out and you will also be allowed to sell or take orders for products. Please note: Illinois Dept. of Public Health will require each vendor to have a one gallon, with turn off/on spigot, container with fresh water; a catch basin under the spigot; and a hand soap to follow hand washing rules during food sampling. This rule must be followed and will be monitored. The same rules that applied at the 2013 Fair will be in place this year per the IDPH staff.
Illinois Dept. of Revenue personnel will provide you with tax forms to submit for sales made during the fair on location.
