Food Truck Friday becomes 'Second Chance Saturday'

A health scare caused an interruption in the summer series of Food Truck Fridays at Kremer's Plumbing in Du Quoin, but the good news is everyone is fine.

And, for one week, anyway, Food Truck Friday morphed into Second Chance Saturday.

Kim Mathis, co-owner of M&P (Mathis & Parnell) Concessions with her daughter and son-in-law Jake and Abby Parnell, had chest pains Friday morning before they opened for the day in the Kremer parking lot.

Fortunately, after being checked out at the hospital, she was found to be OK.

So M&P Concessions came back to Kremer's on Saturday to give it another shot.

Plenty of customers found them on Saturday, even though there was some Facebook chatter from people wondering why M&P weren't open on Friday as advertised.

The next Food Truck Friday at Kremer Plumbing will feature Slim Pickins Smoke Pit, on Aug. 17.
