St. Luke Lutheran Church announces “Throwback Sunday”
St. Luke Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, announces "Throwback Sunday" as part of a year-long series of events to celebrate 125 years of ministry. Throwback Sunday will be held at St. Luke on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 10:00 am and all are invited to attend. A fellowship hour will be offered at 9:00 am in the church basement. Our special guests for the day will be former St. Luke pastor Rev. Harold Grafe and wife Sue Grafe. The service will feature liturgy and hymns from our past, including the Lord's Prayer in German. Worshippers are invited to dress in their "Sunday best" and should be prepared to sit according to gender - men on one side of the sanctuary, women and children on the other.
St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized on April 24, 1887 by German settlers. The current pastors are Rev. Laura Kamprath and Rev. Matthew Kamprath. More information about St. Luke can be found on the church website, www.stlukech.org.
