Best of Show... Matilda Harsy of Du Quoin Has Been Fair Exhibitor for Past 50 Years

When Matilda Harsy of Du Quoin won the Best of Show competition for the heaviest pumpkin at the Du Quoin State Fair in 2000, it was so large they had to roll it onto a blanket and two people carried it into the Expo Hall.

She exhibited at the fair for the first time in 1961 and more than 50 years later she returns to the Expo Hall with sweet corn, pecans and walnuts.
